The environment is not something remote
The environment affects our neighbourhoods every single day. It is the world in which we live, which also includes creatures with feathers, tails or scales and many other organisms.
The group Aliança per l'Emergència Climàtica is made up of people from Paterna, Eliana and San Antonio de Benageber, from the regions of Horta i Camp de Túria in the province of Valencia
We are an association that tries to respond to the current climate crisis with awareness-raising and environmental defense activities.

These are some of the initiatives in which we are involved
Improving public transport
We have a metro network that reaches all our municipalities. However, the frequency of service needs to be increased and the tracks need to be taken underground to minimise their environmental impact.
Prevention measures against forest fires
La Vallesa or Les Moles are vulnerable to fires.
We would like all access routes to the forest to be closed to the public every time an extreme fire risk is declared.
Flora and Fauna protection
We are collaborating with a number of initiatives to help identify protected flora species and restore the health of our ecosystems. We also organise activities to plant seeds, bushes and trees and to place nesting houses for birds and bats.
Ciudades que Caminan
The Network Ciudades que Caminan is an international non-profit association, open to public administrations committed to walkability. Paterna and Eliana are members of this network.
The plan is to take advantage of the technical and informative support offered by the Network to transform cities and also involve citizens in this new idea for a more sustainable future.
Education and Information
We hold interactive workshops on ecology, circular economy, the limits of growth, how environmental pollution affects us or the idea or re-naturalisation.
Gatherings
From the Aliança per l'Emergència Climàtica we organise gatherings to discuss and analyse ideas related to the environment and its protection.

Les Moles and La Vallesa
We are lucky to live surrounded by several parks. La Vallesa and Les Moles are part of the Parque Natural del Turia. From the Climate Emergency Alliance and other local associations, we are working on several fronts to protect these places.
Pruning: with a purpose
Trees take care of our physical and mental health: it's time to return the favor.
We believe that better practices can be applied in the pruning and felling of urban trees.
- minimise pruning during bird breeding seasons
- respond to the needs of the species and not just the needs of sidewalks and roads
- do not prune during times when trees are vulnerable (drought, extreme cold...)
Valencia Tree Day
In coordination with Fundación Felisa and the Viver de la Generalitat, we hope to be able to contribute to healing areas of the forest that have been damaged by diseases, fires or torrential rains.
We provide the tools, but we need your time and your effort to help us plant.
